Please join us as we congratulate Sgt. Tony Sundgaard on his retirement. Sgt. Sundgaard has served the City of Eagan for 30 years, starting as a community service officer in 1995 and transitioning to a police officer the same year. During his time with the Eagan Police Department, Sgt. Sundgaard has been a member of the SWAT team, a use of force instructor, a field training officer, and a mobile field force team leader. Sgt. Sundgaard was promoted to sergeant in 2022 and supervised the active threat team, the mobile field force team, field training officers, and the peer support team. Notably, Sgt. Sundgaard was given a lifesaving award for his efforts in saving a child from drowning last year. Thank you Sgt. Sundgaard for giving 30 years of service to the citizens of Eagan and to your partners here at the Eagan Police Department.
