Please join us as we congratulate Sgt. Tony Sundgaard on his retirement. Sgt. Sundgaard has served the City of Eagan for 30 years, starting as a community service officer in 1995 and transitioning to a police officer the same year. During his time with the Eagan Police Department, Sgt. Sundgaard has been a member of the SWAT team, a use of force instructor, a field training officer, and a mobile field force team leader. Sgt. Sundgaard was promoted to sergeant in 2022 and supervised the active threat team, the mobile field force team, field training officers, and the peer support team. Notably, Sgt. Sundgaard was given a lifesaving award for his efforts in saving a child from drowning last year. Thank you Sgt. Sundgaard for giving 30 years of service to the citizens of Eagan and to your partners here at the Eagan Police Department.

Congratulations to Det. Darrin Schultz on retiring after 22 years at Eagan PD. Det. Schultz started in service 36 years ago by joining the US Air Force and worked for 10 years in military law enforcement. He left the Air Force and served for 4 years at Council Bluffs PD before joining Eagan. During his time here, he has served on the SWAT team, on the Honor Guard, and as a member of the Crime Scene Team. Det. Schultz started in patrol and was later selected as a property crimes detective. As a detective, Det. Schultz took over as a computer forensic investigator and quickly became an expert in the field, helping track down digital evidence and hold criminals accountable. Det. Schultz has served our citizens and our country with honor and professionalism for 36 years. Thank you, Darrin, for your commitment, following the call to serve, and your dedication to the community. Happy retirement!

Today is Officer Jimmy Logan's last day serving the community as a police officer. Officer Logan started as a CSO for us in 1996 and was promoted to Police Officer less than a year later. With 28 years working in law enforcement and 27 of those in patrol, Officer Logan saw almost 3 decades of growth and changes in both the community and in the way we serve. Officer Logan served on the command vehicle team and has been recognized for his calm demeanor when working with folks in their time of crisis. For your 28 years of service to this community, happy retirement, and best wishes on your future adventures.
