April and Summer vacations are coming in hot and we've got your game plan covered!

At DSU, we gave students a real-world challenge:

Plan a Final Four weekend.
Flights. Tickets. Hotel. Food. Merch.
Budget: $5,000.

At first, the reaction was immediate:
“That’s a lot to spend on a vacation.”

Then reality set in.

They looked up UConn ticket prices for NCAA Men’s Final Four.

Then return flights from Boston to Indianapolis.

Two night’s accommodation.

And then they did the math. Suddenly, $5,000 didn’t feel big. It didn’t even feel close.

Flights climbed. Tickets dominated. Hotels followed.

And just like that…the budget was gone.

No room for merch.
No extras.
No margin for error.

One student suggested a 14-hour drive to save on airfare.
Another said what everyone was thinking:

“Maybe we just watch it at home.”

And that’s exactly the point.

At DSU, we’re not just running programs.
We’re helping students understand how the real world works.

Trade-offs. Priorities. What things actually cost.

Because sometimes the lesson isn’t how to get there.
It’s understanding why you might choose not to.

Another life lesson.
