As wildfire smoke continues to affect air quality across Washington, we have once again been reminded of what makes the Riverview School District community so unique. When outdoor activities became unsafe, local cities, nonprofit organizations, churches and Riverview School District came together to find solutions that prioritized the health and well-being of children and families.
Riverview School District is grateful to have the gyms, facilities and indoor spaces that were opened in support of community programs, allowing youth activities and summer camps to continue safely when outdoor conditions made that impossible. Moments like these remind us that schools are more than places for learning. They are community gathering places that bring people together and strengthen our community during challenging times.
Thank you to our community partners for your collaboration and commitment to serving children and families. We are proud to be part of a community that comes together when it matters most.
