No knife. No waterbottle. No blankets. No phones. No snacks.
During the second leg of their Rites of Passage, Immersion students embark on the survival trip they have been training for all year. For five days and four nights, with nothing but the clothes on their backs, they work together to make fire from scratch, find clean water, and build shelters to sleep in.

Is your trash can strewn across the road? It is that time of year again. The season of the black bear!
Late spring and summer is an active time of year for the black bear. There’s so much excitement that surrounds a sighting of this elusive mammal, as well as their track and sign. Our Tracking Intensive program will help you learn the signs black bears leave behind on the landscape. You’ll also learn to track other large carnivores like cougar and wolves.

One hour to unplug. One hour to connect. One hour to build resilience.
Today, the average child spends less than one hour per week in nature, but seven to eight hours per day on screens.

It will challenge you. It will change you. That is the point.
The final stretch of The Immersion program culminates in three weeks of Rites of Passage. It brings the entire program together, putting skills to the test, drawing out the best in the community our students have formed, and ultimately creating the magic and transformation that make The Immersion so powerful.
The first week is Scout Camp. A mysterious expedition where students put Core Routines and skills of awareness to the test. They’ll find themselves working together to navigate in the darkness, playing games and taking part in challenges that spark their aliveness and engage their senses. Using natural camo, hiding and sneaking, deep listening, and leadership skills, The Immersion students will be initiated into the bundle we call “Scouting.”
