Dear Community members,

Asalam o Alaikum,

Alhamdulillah, keeping in the spirit and Sunnah of distributing Zakat al-Fitr before the Eid prayer, the Muslim Association of Wyoming Valley (MAWV) was able to provide over $1500 (Fitrana) worth of groceries and halal meat (more than 400 lbs of meat was distributed , ahdl) to the families in need in our community.

Keeping in view the spirit of Ramadan, MAWV was also able to organize additional four pantry distributions in this blessed month.

We are grateful for the generosity of everyone who contributed and helped ensure that families could prepare for Eid with dignity and ease.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your continued support and generosity. May Allah swt accept from all of us and place barakah in your wealth and families. Ameen

Eid Mubarak!

Dear Community Members,

Asalam o Alaikum,

During this blessed month of Ramadan, MAWV had the honor of helping, organizing and engaging with our local Communities.

By organizing these educational Iftar gatherings it gave students, faculty, local mayors, city councils and community members the opportunity to experience the tradition of breaking the fast together while learning about the values of fasting, compassion, gratitude, and charity representing the true spirit of Ramzan.

We are grateful to the communities at Wilkes University and Wyoming Seminary for welcoming us and for the opportunity to build bridges of understanding, friendship and hope.

As Allah swt says:

“And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive.” (Qur’an 76:8)

We thank Allah swt and MAWV Team for their tireless efforts.
May Allah (SWT) accepts it.

🌙 Ramadan Kareem

We are honored to be hosting our first-ever Ramadan dinner in March, a meaningful milestone for Sem. This upcoming evening, graciously provided by the families of the Muslim Association of Wyoming Valley, will offer an opportunity for fellowship and reflection.

At Wyoming Seminary, we are committed to fostering a community where all traditions are recognized and valued. We look forward to gathering together for an evening that reflects the spirit of generosity, gratitude, and connection that defines Ramadan.

Dear Community Members,

Alhamdulilah news worth sharing.

Wilkes-Barre Academy collected the most items ever in their history for any non profit.

Classrooms were filled with donations. MAWV Kids at WBA put their heart and soul into it, their classmates worked hand in hand.

Copying their campaign quote.

"It is not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived."

May Allah swt accepts it.
Ameen

When local pathologist Navid Ahmad and a few dozen other Muslim families in the area got together last year to discuss how they could give back to the community, two specific needs jumped out at them immediately: food and health care.

Dear MAWV Community Members,

Assalam-o- Alaikum wrb.

Alhamdulillah, we are blessed to continue our monthly pantry service, providing essential groceries to families in need. This month was our first successful food and supplies pickup at our new MAWV center!

As word of our services spreads, the number of families we support continues to grow. These are tough times for many within our community and we are deeply grateful for your generous donations.
We cannot do anything without you all! May Allah reward you all immensely Ameen!

I have some pictures that I have attached of our first service from the new MAWV center.

May Allah swt guide us and bless us through this journey. Ameen
