πŸš΄πŸ’™ Duryea, Let's Give Go Joe a Big Welcome! πŸ’™πŸš΄

Our community is excited to welcome WNEP meteorologist Joe Snedeker and Go Joe 29 as he makes his way through Duryea during his annual charity bike ride benefiting Saint Joseph's Center.

For 29 years, Go Joe has brought communities together across Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania to support the children and adults served by Saint Joseph's Center. It's a tradition that reminds us what can happen when neighbors come together for a great cause.

Let's show everyone what the Duryea community is all about. We hope to see you there! πŸ’™πŸš΄

πŸ’™ Law Enforcement Appreciation Day πŸ’™

Today, we pause to honor the men and women who wear the badge with pride, courage, and unwavering dedication. At the Duryea Police Department, I am proud to serve alongside officers who go above and beyond every single day to protect and serve our community. Your commitment, professionalism, and compassion do not go unnoticed.

I want to take a moment to recognize and thank each member of our department:

Sgt. Charles Swisher – Your years of service, dedication, and unmatched knowledge are the foundation of our department. Thank you for your leadership and guidance.

Pfc. Brianne Malvizzi – Our second longest-tenured officer and the first full-time female officer hired by Duryea Police. Your outstanding community policing skills set the standard for excellence.

Pfc. Christopher Taylor – Bringing military leadership and a proactive approach to policing, you exemplify professionalism and initiative.

Pfc. Robin-Lynn Plake – You are becoming a fine officer, continuously growing and using your skills to make our community a better place.

Pfc. Lorenzo Saavedra – Nearing the completion of your full-time probationary period, you have exceeded expectations and shown great promise.

Part-Time Officers Patrick Wall, Tywone Giles, and Jennifer Anderson – Your dedication and teamwork complete our agency and complement our full-time officers, ensuring Duryea remains a safe and strong community.

To all of our brothers and sisters in law enforcement, whether here in Duryea, across Pennsylvania, or around the world, thank you. You stand on the front lines, often in the face of uncertainty, to keep others safe. Your sacrifices, big and small, make a difference every day.

Let’s take a moment to show appreciation for these incredible individuals who embody integrity and service.

If you see on any Police Officers today, please thank them. A simple gesture of gratitude goes a long way.

Stay safe, stay strong, and know that your work matters. πŸ’™
