Our last concert of the year! 7th & 8th grade chorus, 7th & 8th grade orchestra

So many great performances and solos by both ensembles! But the song that stood out to me, particularly as 8th graders move on to high school, is “You Gotta Be” by the chorus. This song is about self-confidence and inner strength and seems fitting as these musicians prepare to leave Rogers-Herr. 💙

Once again, a great night of music by Mr. Stine and his students. And it’s clear why both ensembles earned a Superior rating at the Carowinds Festival of Music!

Tonight, the 6th grade chorus treated us to songs from classic movies and TV shows like The NeverEnding Story, Les Misérables, Phineas & Ferb, and The Sound of Music.

And the 6th grade orchestra ended the night with a performance of “Springtime in Durham,” which was composed by our very own Mr. Stine!

Well done, 6th grade! Can’t wait to see continued growth in 7th grade! 💙

After 20 years at Rogers-Herr, the 7th/8th/jazz band concert on 12MAY2026 is the last concert for our beloved Band Director Ms. Renada Cammon before she retires.

The setlist included some amazing pieces that earned an Excellent at the Carowinds Festival of Music in May 2026 and an entertaining rendition of “More Cowbell” from the famous SNL skit. And of course student performances featuring “Let Down” by Radiohead and the Super Mario Theme.

But, to celebrate Ms. Cammon and her legacy, we also had special guests and speakers.

From the bittersweet classic “You are my Sunshine” to “The Cruel Angel’s Thesis” from the famous anime Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Ms. Cammon’s final group of 6th graders is so talented. 💙

Hello Band, Chorus, and Orchestra families!!

After almost 30 years as a teacher and 20 years at Rogers-Herr, our beloved Band Director, Ms. Renada Cammon, is retiring at the end of the 25/26 school year. Her last concert is Tuesday, 12MAY2026, at 6:30p in the RHMS Auditorium.

Let’s make her last concert the best ever! If possible, please wear Hello Kitty/Sanrio shirts to the concert 😉. Anyone can attend - Please also invite alumni!

Please bring gifts, gift cards, cards, balloons, etc. (no flowers). We will have a banner for students and families to sign as well.

Includes: transportation on charter bus, park admission, voucher for meal/drink/snack, shirt
