Something NEW has rolled into Purpose Learning Lab, and our scholars are READY! ❤️💛

Our Robotics Center is officially open with NEW ROBOTS for our scholars to explore, build, code, test, and challenge! 🤖💻⚙️

At PLL, robotics is more than playing with cool technology. Our scholars are developing:

🧠 Critical-thinking skills
💻 Coding & computational thinking
⚙️ Engineering skills
🧩 Problem-solving
🤝🏽 Teamwork & communication
💡 Creativity & innovation
🔄 And the confidence to TRY, FAIL, REDESIGN & TRY AGAIN!

🥤🧵🏗️ ENGINEERING WITH CUPS & STRING?! YES, PLEASE! 🏗️🧠

At Purpose Learning Lab, sometimes the simplest materials create the BIGGEST learning experiences! ❤️💛

Our scholars took on the Cup & String Engineering Challenge—using cups, string, teamwork, and some serious brainpower to design and build structures without using their hands to move the cups! 😱🔥

The challenge required scholars to:

🧠 PLAN a strategy
🧵 CONTROL the strings
🤝🏽 COMMUNICATE with teammates
🥤 BUILD the structure
⚖️ Explore balance & stability
🔄 REDESIGN when things didn’t work
👏🏽 And most importantly…WORK TOGETHER!

One person pulling too hard could change the ENTIRE structure—which turned into a powerful lesson about engineering AND teamwork! 💡

At PLL, STEM isn’t always expensive equipment and complicated technology.

Sometimes it’s a few cups, some string, curious minds, and permission to CREATE! 🥤🧵✨

❤️ Collaborate. Communicate. Engineer. REPEAT.

🌊💦 ENGINEERING WATERSLIDES AT PLL! 🛝🧠

What happens when you mix WATER + ENGINEERING + CREATIVITY + a little PLL FUN?! 😱💦

You get our ENGINEERING WATERSLIDE STEM CHALLENGE! 🔬🛠️

Our scholars became ENGINEERS as they designed, built, tested, and improved their very own waterslides! 🙌🏽

📐 DESIGN IT!
🛠️ BUILD IT!
💦 TEST IT!
🤔 What went wrong?
🔄 REDESIGN IT!
🏆 TRY AGAIN!

Along the way, scholars explored gravity, force, motion, speed, slope, friction, and the engineering design process — without being stuck behind a desk! 🧠🔥

And when that first design didn’t work?

THAT was part of the lesson! 👏🏽

At Purpose Learning Lab, we’re teaching our scholars that engineers don’t give up when something fails…

THEY IMPROVE THE DESIGN! 💡

This is STEM at PLL: Get messy. Ask questions. Build something. Test it. Learn from it. TRY AGAIN! ❤️💛

💨🔬 WAIT…AIR CAN MAKE A BALL FLOAT?! 😱⚽

At Purpose Learning Lab, our scholars put AIR POWER to the test during another hands-on STEM experience! 🧪🙌🏽

Using an air-powered ball STEM toy, scholars explored how airflow, force, pressure, and gravity work together to keep a ball floating in midair! 💨⬆️

But at PLL, we don’t just WATCH science happen…

👉🏽 We PREDICT.
👉🏽 We TEST.
👉🏽 We ASK WHY.
👉🏽 We TRY AGAIN.
👉🏽 We LEARN OUT LOUD! 🧠🗣️

The best part? They were having so much FUN they didn’t even realize how much science they were learning! ❤️💛

THIS is what learning looks like at PLL.

Today our Purpose Pearls traded performance mode for SERVICE MODE! 🤝🏽💗

Because being a Purpose Pearl is about so much more than learning routines, hitting counts, and performing. We are developing young ladies who understand the POWER of serving others, giving back, showing kindness, and taking care of their community.

Our PLL scholars turned snack time into a hands-on learning experience with our Edible Smile Lab! 🧪🦷

From building their own edible smiles to exploring teeth, healthy choices, and how our bodies work, our scholars were learning while creating—and having FUN while doing it!

📚🔥 LEARNING DOESN’T ALWAYS LOOK THE SAME AT PLL! 🔥📚

Who said you need a chair to learn?! 😂🙌🏽

During Intensive Learning: Math, our scholars decided to go CHAIRLESS — and guess what? The learning didn’t stop! 🧠➕➗✏️

At Purpose Learning Lab, we understand that every scholar learns differently. Sometimes learning means sitting quietly at a desk…and sometimes it means standing up, moving around, talking through the problem, asking questions, and LEARNING OUT LOUD! 🗣️💡

👏🏽 HUGE shoutout to our amazing tutors for teaching our scholars how to slow down, think through the problem, explain their thinking, and work step-by-step toward the answer.

We aren’t just teaching them to get the answer.

💡 We’re teaching them to understand HOW they got there.
🧠 We’re building problem-solvers.
💪🏽 We’re building confidence.
📈 We’re building independent learners.

At PLL, sometimes you have to get OUT of the chair to get INTO the learning! ❤️💛
