As the Brothers of the Southern Region gather for the 95th Regional Convention in Raleigh, North Carolina, the “City of Oaks”, we honor the legacy of our dear Brother Lemuel Eugene Graves, a native son of this historic city. In the early years of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Brother Graves exemplified leadership, service, and a commitment to the mission of Alpha. His life reflects the strength and resilience symbolized by the oak trees that define Raleigh.

As we stand in the city that helped shape his journey, let us remember his impact and recommit to the work.

The Bull City Alphas honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy yesterday by participating in the Annual March & Rally with the MLK Steering Committee and serving as ushers at Orange Grove Missionary Baptist Church's religious service, where our past Chapter President, Bro. Rodney Scurlock, received an award for Outstanding and Dedicated Service.

This day served as a great reminder of how far we’ve come and yet how far we still have to go to fulfill Dr. King’s vision. Now, more than ever, we need to stand united and continue this fight

Beta Theta Lambda Chapter Hosts Annual Retreat: “Build Brotherhood, Build Community, Build Alpha”

The Brothers of the Beta Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. held their annual chapter retreat, centering on the theme “Build Brotherhood, Build Community, Build Alpha.”

Under the leadership of Chapter President, Brother Rodney Shepard, the retreat provided an opportunity to reflect on the chapter’s accomplishments, engage in honest dialogue about current challenges, and plan for the upcoming fraternal year. Brother Shepard shared his goals and vision, emphasizing the importance of unity, service, and accountability.

Brothers enjoyed a spirit of fellowship and collaboration as they reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening brotherhood within the chapter, making a positive impact in the community, and upholding the mission and aims of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The retreat concluded with a renewed focus on being mission-driven and purpose-focused as the chapter continues its work of leadership, service, and advocacy.
