Join us for LIFE Skills’ 3rd Annual Jingle Jam on Thursday, December 10th, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Durham Arts Council! This year’s Starry Night theme will set the stage for an evening of music, food, drinks, dancing, and connection. And if last year’s photo booth was any indication, there will be plenty of fun along the way.

Tickets are on sale now, and we’re expecting to sell out again this year. Early bird tickets are $40 through November 6th, then $50 for general admission.

We’re also raising $75,000 to support young adults as they build stable, independent futures. Come celebrate with us and help us reach our goal.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our LIFE Skills Open House on Friday! We had such a great time opening our doors, welcoming new and familiar faces, and sharing more about the young people and work at the heart of LIFE Skills. A special shoutout to the young people who helped welcome guests and lead tours, our incredible staff, and our board members, donors, and friends who make this work possible every day.

We’re grateful to everyone who came to celebrate with us - and excited for all that’s ahead. Your support helps us create a community where young people have the support, relationships, and resources they need to build independent futures.

Our hearts are full after an inspiring morning with the LIFE Skills community at our 11th Annual Breakfast at the Museum of Life and Science.

We’re deeply grateful to the sponsors, supporters, partners, and community members who gathered alongside us in support of youth transitioning out of foster care. Throughout the morning, we reflected on both the beauty and hardships that shape young people’s journeys — and the powerful role community plays in helping youth build stable, independent futures.

We continue to be profoundly moved by the courage, honesty, and resilience of the young people who shared their stories so openly and authentically. Their voices are a powerful reminder of why this work matters.
