Yesterday, Institute Capital and the Institute Community Development Initiative (ICDI), with support from U.S. Bank, brought emerging developers together for a New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Training facilitated by Trevor Nelson of Cherry Bekaert.

Participants gained practical insights into NMTC eligibility, financing structures, project readiness, closing capital gaps, and positioning projects to attract lenders and investors.

We’re proud to invest in the knowledge, tools, and resources emerging developers need to turn impactful ideas into capital-ready projects that strengthen underserved communities.

Thank you to U.S. Bank, Cherry Bekaert, and all of the developers who joined us!

Applications Now Open for the Next Connect Church Cohort with the NC Rural Center!

Connect Church is a program offered by the NC Rural Center’s Faith in Rural Communities initiative aimed at helping churches renew their faithful witness and connect with opportunities to improve the health and prosperity of their communities.

This free one-year program provides in-person coaching, training, and resources to increase your church’s missional engagement impact. The coaches and experts focus on your church and your community.

Your church creates a church team of 6-10 people interested in leading missional engagement. This team agrees to meet at least twice per month and participate in three Saturday workshops.

What is offered:
* Monthly coaching for a team of church leaders
* Help in understanding community and church assets
* Networking with other churches asking the same questions
* Upon program completion, churches may apply for a grant of up to $10,000 to launch a new or expanded missional engagement project

This is a $25,000 value offered to you for free thanks to generous funding from The Duke Endowment and the Lilly Endowment.

For more information, contact Hamid Kamara, Faith in Rural Communities program manager, at [email protected] or 434-250-2357.
