Carolina Lily Theater Company

Carolina Lily Theater Company A New Community Theater Company in the Triangle-we do everything in a collaborative process all by group members.

The Carolina Lily Theater Company strives to become an outlet and venue for a diverse variety of local talent. Out of our diversity we hope to utilize the many cross-cultural and rich artistic sensibilities that our members embody. Our purpose is to create high quality, genuinely thought-provoking theater for the community. Our operation works on the basis of equality, respect, and in the spirit

of group collaboration; each member wears many hats and none of us are above or below one another; some simply bear more responsibility--and this is seen as a privilege. We are still looking for talented artists as we embark on the beginning of our process towards our premere season, which will be original works written by group members, performed by group members, directed, designed, promoted, produced...etc. Anyone in the triangle area with creative talent and a passion for their art is welcome to submit a brief statement about what you would like to do, your experience in that field, and a little bit about your background. This is a diverse group of members, with talent that spans race, gender, age and creed. We have members ranging from all parts of the age spectrum and are proud to have a racially and culturally diverse group in our company, which we believe will reflect the full spectrum of human emotion and perception due to our various viewpoints, experiences and cultures we carry with us into our art. This is a very dedicated group, who is serious about their art and truly decided to take the matter of their art career into their own hands. We hope to add to the rich culture and art of the triangle area.

I know it may be a daunting task starting a theater company but I want to send this to all the members to think about:
John F. Kennedy said that one person can make a difference, and that every person must try. What if each of us really tried? What is each of us spontaneously decided that, one by one, we really can be the better world we wish for?

This is our time,

Yours and mine.

You have important discoveries to make.

Now is the time to make them.

You have important talents to develop.

Now is the time to develop them.

You have important gifts to give the world.

Now is the time to give them.

To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
- Anatole France

Generally it begins with a character. It doesn't matter whether that character is based on someone you've known (incl...
