The Stokes County Planning Board voted 5-2 to reject the Project Delta proposal. The board will now send its recommendation to the Stokes County Board of Commissioners, which will make the final decision to approve or deny the rezoning request on August 24th.

In a new article from Mother Jones, Andrew Fedorov, tells the story of our client Savanna Batten and the Prairieland defendants. The article examines Savanna’s life as an activist, the July 2025 demonstration outside an ICE detention facility, the sweeping federal case that followed, and the 50-year sentence she ultimately received.

The fight is far from over. We will continue working towards justice for Savanna.

Yesterday, Southern Coalition for Social Justice (SCSJ) filed a lawsuit on Lee’s behalf in the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina against CMPD officers and the City of Charlotte.

Anthony Lee was smoking a h**p cigarette he had legally purchased at a store when Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested him.
