Today we spotlight our mentor Sciacca! She’s our diva ✨ and just celebrated her 50th birthday but you certainly can’t tell. Sciacca is one of our mentors and served on our parent liaison committee. Hear from Sciacca why she’s a RHODA Mentor!

I became a RHODA mentor because I know how important it is for a young woman to have someone in her corner. Someone who will listen without judgment, encourage her, tell her the truth when she needs to hear it, and remind her that she has so much more in her than she may see in herself right now.

For me, mentoring is about being present. I don’t feel like I need to have all the answers or have a perfect life to pour into someone else. I can share the things I’ve learned, the mistakes I’ve made, and the lessons life has taught me.

I think every woman should consider becoming a RHODA mentor because you never really know the impact you can have on a young woman simply by showing up and caring. Sometimes it’s the conversations you think are small that she remembers years later. Sometimes she just needs somebody to say, “I see you. I believe in you. And you can do this.”

Honestly, I think mentoring is just as rewarding for the mentor. You get to watch a young woman grow, discover herself, gain confidence, and realize her potential. There’s something special about knowing you played even a small part in that journey. You don’t have to be perfect to be a mentor. You just have to be willing to show up, be genuine, and pour into someone else.
