Join NAWIC and Hard Hat Courage on Tuesday, October 13th from 1–2 p.m. (CT) for an informative conversation about su***de prevention and mental health in the construction industry.

This session will explore the unique factors that contribute to su***de risk in construction and introduce free resources, tools, and support available through Hard Hat Courage, an initiative of the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP). Participants will learn how they can bring these resources into their workplaces, communities, and personal networks. NAWIC Chapter Leaders will also gain ideas and practical tools to share with and support their members.

WORLD HABITAT DAY

Today is World Habitat Day. 🏠

Construction is about so much more than bricks, steel, concrete, blueprints, and job sites.

It’s about creating the places where people live, work, learn, heal, gather and build their lives.

Every project becomes part of a community.

And every person in our industry has a role in shaping what those communities look like.

Today, we celebrate the people who help build the places we call home, and the women helping shape the future of our built environment.

This month gives us plenty of reasons to show up, speak up, connect, and build something better.

🎀 It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a reminder to support, encourage, and stand beside those in our lives and our industry who have been impacted by breast cancer.

👷‍♀️ It’s Careers in Construction Month, a chance to celebrate the countless career paths that make our industry strong and the women building those careers every single day.

And here in the South Atlantic Region, we’re always looking for ways to Connect. Learn. Lead.

So let’s make October count.

🍂 THAT’S A WRAP ON SEPTEMBER!

This month we celebrated skilled tradespeople, recognized new chapter leaders, highlighted the importance of mental health and su***de prevention, celebrated our chapters and started looking ahead to our Virtual Fall Conference.

But most importantly, we celebrated the women who continue to show up and build something bigger than themselves.

As we head into October, we’re carrying that momentum with us.

Because there is always more to build.

More connections.
More confidence.
More leadership.
More opportunities.

And we’re just getting started. 💪
