No Rate Hikes! The final Duke Energy rate hike hearing in Durham on Wednesday was the largest yet! As Rania of North Carolina Environmental Justice Network said, "We won't accept paying more for something we don't want!" (DATA CENTERS!)

Duke Energy is asking state regulators to increase residential rates by 18% over the next two years. The utility says these increases are needed to improve resiliency and reliability.

On June 24 from 9 AM - 5 PM at the NC Legislature on 16 W Jones Street in Raleigh, Communities from across NC will push back against the impacts of data centers.

We need leadership from our state legislators on issues like high electric bills, water usage, non-disclosure agreements, toxic chemicals, air pollution, lack of jobs, surveillance, and noise pollution.

Join together with communities from across North Carolina to lobby your state senator and state representative to protect our communities from the impact of data centers!

Folks will meet throughout the day with their legislators, make it when you can.

⏰12pm- Press conference with community leaders from areas fighting data centers! Location to be determined.

Drag Down Our Electric Bills Rally is THIS WEDNESDAY in Durham! Duke Energy wants to raise our bills... 18%! Why? In part, it's to power big tech data centers.
The NC Utilities Commission is holding a hearing in Durham to decide if they should let them. This is a peaceful, fun event to make our voices heard because this hearing is about whether Duke Energy can raise our already too high bills!

Hear from incredible speakers including: Rania Masri of North Carolina Environmental Justice Network, Darrion Smith of UE150 NC Public Service Workers Union, Durham City Councilman Nate Baker on the data center moratorium and what Duke Energy owes our public schools!
