LGBTQ Center of Durham

LGBTQ Center of Durham Creating Visibility. Encouraging Partnerships. Fostering Community. Standing for Justice. Welcome to the LGBTQ Center on Facebook!

We're glad you stopped by, and we certainly hope we'll see you often. We're in the midst of working to bring together LGBTQ people and our allies from Durham and its surrounding communities in the northwestern Research Triangle Region to build a center that reflects who we are, serves all our people, and provides us with a place to just be. Would you like to have a hand in steering us towards our

future? Visit our website to learn how you can join in the excitement: www.lgbtqcenterofdurham.com. Visit our website to learn more about how you can have a hand in steering us into the future. And just simply providing Durham with a "Family Room." We are The LGBTQ Center of Durham.

Raye Dooley and Vanity Deterville share about a foundational workshop our staff and Board participated in at the end of August. And drop a little history, too. Do you know who was the first woman to produce a Broadway play? Of course, she's a le***an. :-)

Some of the biggest barriers to survivor safety are finance related. While we do our best to put cash directly into survivors hands, in tandem, we thought it would be awesome to create a body doubling/coworking space where we can support each other in sifting through all the s**t that goes into getting financial stable. And offer relevant financial resources as we find them! That’s why we host our “Get S**t Done” evenings. They will occur the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month and be available in person or online (must register or email for the virtual link). Find the registration link in our bio :) If you or someone you know is a money expert who wants to share their knowledge with q***r/trans survivors, please reach out!
