Many farm workers refer to strawberries as "la Fruta del Diablo," the Devil's Fruit, because of the suffering they must endure to harvest them in the hot sun. Too many Americans want to ignore this reality, but UUs will not.

Please UU Justice NC and our partners in Raleigh on July 24th to bear witness to the heat injury and death our inhumane agricultural system forces upon farm workers.

Urgent Call to Action - Call and email your legislators and tell them to fix the Medicaid funding bill to ensure as many people as possible stay insured and protected? HB 696 funds Medicaid through the end of the fiscal year on June 30, but it also includes incredibly harmful provisions that take coverage away from lawfully present children and pregnant women and impose the harshest possible burdens on the NC Medicaid expansion population.
