Raleigh, we’ll see you Sunday… rain or shine!

There may be a little rain in the forecast, but we’ll be there doing what we do best: connecting you with your favorite farmers and makers.

Don’t let the weather stop you from stocking up on local produce, supporting small businesses, and spending time in community.

We’ll be accepting SNAP and Sun Bucks and matching up to $50 through our Double Bucks program to help your dollars go even further.

Grab an umbrella if you need one and come spend your Sunday with us. See you Sunday!

You can learn almost anything on YouTube. But you can’t ask questions. You can’t build relationships. You can’t learn from the experiences of the people sitting next to you.

That’s why we’re excited to launch the BFM Business Academy.

For the first time, we’re opening our business workshops to the broader community, bringing entrepreneurs, farmers, and small business owners together to learn, connect, and grow.

These sessions are designed to provide practical tools you can use right away while creating opportunities to build community with others who understand the challenges and opportunities of entrepreneurship.

Click the link in our bio to explore upcoming workshops and register. We have more sessions planned throughout the season.

What business topic would you like to learn more about? Let us know in the comments.

We’re back after a short break and ready to gather with community this Sunday in Durham.

As we recognize Men’s Mental Health Month, we’re creating space to move, breathe, and take care of ourselves. Join us for free movement opportunities throughout the market, including yoga classes with and stretch and mobility sessions led by Patrick Service.

The classes are open to everyone, but we’re especially encouraging the fellas to come out and participate. Sometimes wellness starts with simply showing up.

If you’d like to join a yoga class, use the link in our bio to reserve your spot.

And of course, we’ll have fresh food, local farmers and makers, music, and the community you’ve been missing these past couple of weeks.

We’ll see you at the market!

Last week, the BFM team had the opportunity to visit in Mount Olive, NC, and what an experience it was.

Thank you to Erin Martin and her family for welcoming us onto the farm and sharing the incredible history behind this land. Footprints in the Garden sits on farmland purchased in 1883 by Erin’s great-great-grandfather, Harry Martin, after his service with the 135th United States Colored Troops following the Civil War. More than 140 years later, the Martin family continues to steward and protect that land for future generations.

Today, Erin serves as a seventh-generation land steward, growing food, educating future farmers, and helping strengthen local food systems across North Carolina. The farm was also recognized with the 2023 Leopold Conservation Award for its commitment to conservation, innovation, and sustainable agriculture.

As descendants of Black people who fought to own, keep, and pass down land, stories like this remind us that farming is about so much more than food. It’s about legacy.

Thank you, Erin, for sharing your knowledge, your history, and your vision with our team!

No market this week… but that doesn’t mean community stops!

Use this Sunday to still pour back into the people and spaces that make the Triangle feel like home.

-Go support the good folks at Swamp Jam on May 30th
-Get outside and frolic a little!
-Visit Bright Black and create your own scent.
-Shop with The Bull City Store.
-Get some together and listen to a podcast or two from Revolutionary Baddies and subscribe while you’re there.
-Spend some time at the Pauli Murray Center.

There’s so much good happening around us all the time, and this is your reminder to stay connected to it.

We’ll see y’all back at the market on June 7th
