Sons of Union Veterans, General John A. Logan Camp #4 Preserving the memory of the Union Soldier and teaching the history of the American Civil War. The Sons of Union Veterans General John A.

Logan Camp #4 meets monthly at Bennett Place State Historic Site in Durham, North Carolina. Typically the membership has dinner at a local restaurant and then conducts its meetings at the Visitor Center Theater. A guest speaker with a Civil War related topic and organizational business is the typical meeting agenda.

Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom.
It’s the mission of Wreaths Across America. This event is always on the third Saturday of each December at exactly 12 noon local time at every cemetery where American soldiers are buried. This year WAA placed over 2.7 million sponsored veterans’ wreaths at more than 4,000 participating locations.
This year at Raleigh National Cemetery, the John A Logan Camp #4 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War participated as a Group Sponsor. Our Camp Commander, Michael Gray, laid a wreath for all the Union Soldiers who served in the American Civil War. Dan Hopping, Past Camp Commander, laid a wreath for all who served in the Revolutionary War and participated in the Sons of the Revolution Color Guard in firing a volley at the end of the Ceremony.

The Bennett Place Historic Site will be closed this evening due to illness.
