"Southerners should be identified and protected as equals to any other United States citizen with a unique cultural background. They shouldn’t need to change or hide their Southern Identity to receive the same respect as other United States citizens. Imagine if monuments representative of any other group of American Citizens were deemed offensive by some, and a government body decided to remove all representation of that group's history and existence."

This brief explains our Article I, Section 19 claim. NC’s Article I, Section 19, is similar to the U.S. 14th Amendment. This case is the first we’ve made this claim.
