From the kitchen to the community 🌿✨

Our young culinary leaders took center stage at the Impact Garden event — and they brought the flavor! 🍿🌶️

Students ran an interactive popcorn bar, walking attendees through spice blends and flavor profiles they’ve developed through our Culinary Leadership Initiative. Watching them own the room, share their knowledge, and light up when someone tried a new flavor combination? That’s what this work is all about.

A huge thank you to DPS Foundation for believing in our students and making this program possible. Your support grows more than gardens — it grows leaders. A special shout out to for leading and piloting this program with our young people.

We’re excited to celebrate the first winning dish from our Monuts Challenge: Patatas Bravas by one of our talented student cooks! 🌟

This dish is now available for purchase at Monuts, so stop by and support local while tasting the creativity and skill of our young culinary artists.

Beyond the plate, this partnership is about so much more than food. Programs like this give students real-world experience, voice, and confidence, connecting their learning to community, entrepreneurship, and opportunity in powerful ways. Every dish represents hours of practice, feedback, growth, and pride.

Behind the curtain at Monuts 🍩👀
Our students got an inside look at what it really takes to run a restaurant—from the kitchen to the business—during a special tour with Lindsay, the owner of Monuts.
They asked big questions, learned the why behind the work, and got inspired by what’s possible.
Next up: in January, our students will pitch their own ideas to Lindsay đź‘Ź
