We officially launched our Wash & Learn Series! 🧡💙

At Saturday’s event, families put their laundry knowledge to the test with a quick questionnaire featuring practical laundry tips. Once completed, they were entered into our raffle for a chance to win! 🎉

Because while the clothes are washing, there’s always an opportunity to learn something new.

This is why we do what we do. 💙

At our latest Free Laundry Event, one woman shared how illness led to the loss of her job and an unexpected move from her home. She came to wash her clothes, but through Uplift, she was also able to connect with resources to help her move forward.

And she wasn’t alone.

More than 50 families showed up to wash clothes and prepare for the days ahead. Families also received backpacks, water bottles, community resources, and three lucky winners went home with Food Lion gift cards.

A special thank you to our amazing volunteers through Activate Good, along with Feed Durham , Molina Healthcare and Wavemax Durham who helped make the day possible.

Sometimes a load of laundry is where the connection begins.

The need for laundry assistance continues to grow.

Uplift received 98 requests in June, 103 in July, and 58 more in August so far.

Each request represents a person or family preparing for school, work, and everyday life. Clean clothes should never be a barrier.
