Have You Ever Seen an Egg Being Laid!? While collecting eggs at the Catawba Trail Farm, we captured a special moment just in time - one of our hens laying an egg! What a beautiful process to witness and such a wonderful reminder of the care, life, and learning that happens every day on the farm. 🐔💛

A huge thank you to IBM for recently volunteering with us at the Catawba Trail Farm! Their team helped in such a tremendous way by relocating and organizing large wooden logs, planting in the community garden and high tunnel, and carefully potting native plants that were growing throughout the agriculture field.

It was especially fascinating to see the variety of native plants that were collected and preserved. We’re so grateful for IBM’s support, teamwork, and willingness to help us care for the land and continue growing this space for the community!

We’re excited to welcome our new baby chicks from McMurray Hatchery to the Catawba Trail Farm! They’re happy, comfortable, and adjusting well to their new homes.

This is an exciting step for UCAN as it allows us to continue expanding our chicken education opportunities while also helping provide even more fresh eggs to the community.

And speaking of eggs… fresh UCAN eggs are available to purchase online! 💛

This year’s theme is: “Where You Stand, Medicine Grows: Building a Home Apothecary from the Herbs Around You.”
