For the second time today, the members are arriving at a working fire - this time in the 1800 Blk of Morehead Hill Ct. First arriving companies have smoke showing from the charlie side of a 2 story residence. Fire attack and searches are underway.

**Significant Working Fire***

Units are still operating in the 3600 Blk of University Drive. Companies encountered multiple floors of fire and large volumes of fire in the attic. With multiple reports of people trapped, aggressive searches and fire attack were conducted under challenging conditions. One person was rescued by DFD members. Units will be operating well into the afternoon despite the heat index exceeding 100° today. All footage courtesy of bystanders.

Durham Firefighters are clearing up from a small working fire in the 5800 BLK of Barbee Chapel Rd. First arriving crews had smoke showing and extinguished a kitchen fire.

Public Comment on the Budget

TONIGHT (6/1) there will be a Public Comment on the budget at the Council Meeting. There will be several representatives from Local 668 speaking. We are asking for any available members and residents to be present for support.

It takes a lot of courage to stand up in front of the Council and fight. Please arrive by 6:30pm tonight, 6/1, in your blue shirt to support your brothers and sisters as they speak on our behalf.

Early this morning at approximately 0400 Durham Firefighter responded to a structure fire in the 1200 blk of Dayton St. Members arrived to find heavy smoke from the second story of a multi residential structure. Units made quick work with extinguishing the fire and searching for occupants.
