Our Assistant Director Carrie Portrie is continuing her journey with the Leadership New Hampshire Class of 2026, which kicked off last August. Through this experience, she’s been connecting with leaders across the state and gaining deeper insight into the issues shaping New Hampshire communities.

In February, Carrie and her cohort spent time at the State House, diving into the inner workings of local and state government. Next, the group will head to Nashua to explore the role of the arts in building vibrant, connected communities.

We’re proud to see Carrie bringing this experience back to her work with the New Hampshire Listens team!

The national debt is reaching historic highs. Interest payments now exceed defense spending. All three major credit rating agencies have downgraded U.S. government securities.

What does this mean for Social Security, Medicare, taxes, and the broader economy?

Join us on Wednesday, March 11, at 6:30 pm, in Durham for a nonpartisan panel discussion on America’s fiscal outlook. Federal and state experts will explore what’s ahead and what policy choices could change the trajectory.

🎀 Moderated by Laura Knoy, Community Engagement Director, Rudman Center
πŸ“ Huddleston Hall Sunroom (73 Main Street, Durham)

Can't make it to the evening discussion? Participate in Principles & Priorities, an interactive federal budget simulation from 4:30–5:30 PM. Step into the role of Congress and build a 10-year budget.
