Duke Singapore Students Association Duke Singapore Students Association (SSA) is a chartered Duke organization that represents the Singaporean student community at Duke University in Durham.

Duke Singapore Students Association (SSA) is a chartered Duke organization that represents the Singaporean student community at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. The Singaporean community at Duke comprises a diverse mix of undergraduates, graduate students and post-doctoral students. Current membership stands at about 60. Duke SSA serves two main purposes at Duke – to provide a ‘home away from home’ for Singaporeans, and to promote Singaporean interests and culture at Duke University. We organize social and cultural events throughout the academic year, beginning with Freshmen Welcome every Fall Semester, celebrations of Mid-Autumn and Lunar New Year, as well as smaller-scale Dinner&Games events where there’s usually hotpot, karaoke, and Senior Night, amongst many other activities. We also participate in large-scale events organized by Duke International Association at the campus level, where we celebrate Singaporean food and culture.

HELLO MAJULAHS! 🎉 We are so excited to kick off the semester with our Back to School Dinner! 🥳

The evening will be a mix of food and conversation where you’ll get to hear directly from upperclassmen about what the pre-professional club process at Duke is really like. From finance and consulting to tech and policy, they’ll share tips for what they wish they had known when starting out.

Whether you’re set on a track or just exploring, this is a chance to connect with the community and learn more about Duke. Come hungry and see you there! 🌟

🗓️ Date: Saturday, Sept 5, 2026
📍 Location: McClendon Tower, Level 5
🕕 Time: 7 PM

Last but certainly not least, we have Matthew! Matthew has been a core pillar of support for the SSA community, always looking out for all the underclassmen. Whether it be training together for a 10K or rallying at Waynestock, we can always count on Matthew to bring the good vibes (and the Singapore flag) 😎 Philly sure is lucky to have Matthew coming their way!

We wish you all the best ahead, Matthew!

Next in our senior sendoff list is Chris! We haven’t seen Chris around that much, so we are very glad that he’s staying at Duke to pursue a Masters in Theological Studies as a Theology, Medicine and Culture Fellow 🩺 With his kind heart and care for all, we are so glad he is part of our Singapore family at Duke 🇸🇬

Next up on our senior sendoff list is Akshat! In addition to being a big and great-grand big to fellow Singaporeans in Scale & Coin, he has been a pillar of support to all in our community. With his prowess in all things economics, business, and finance, New York’s financial scene is not ready for him 🚕

We wish you all the best ahead, Akshat!

T-9 days to LDOC and we are already missing our seniors ☹️ First up in our senior sendoff is Kush! We are so grateful that you’ve been a part of our home away from home and know that you will go on to do great things. As an innovative trailblazer with his Program II major, it’s no wonder that Kush is off to work at a startup in New York 🗽

We wish you all the best ahead, Kush!
