NH SBDC staff visited Atlanta for the 42nd America’s SBDC Annual Training Event, joining nearly 1,000 SBDC professionals from across the country.

The annual event is the biggest opportunity of the year for SBDC staff to learn from one another, build new skills, and bring fresh ideas back to their local centers.

Sessions covered a wide range of topics designed to help advisors and network professionals better serve small businesses in their communities.

🔐 Your business isn’t the only one responsible for protecting your data.

As a small business owner, you probably work with a number of vendors every day. Maybe it’s your payroll provider, accountant, payment processor, website host, cloud software, or IT company.

But have you stopped to think about what information those vendors can access? A security issue with a third-party vendor can put your business at risk, even if you’re doing everything right on your end.

This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, take a few minutes to review your key vendors.

Ask yourself:

• What information do they have access to?
• Do they actually need that access?
• What security measures do they have in place?
• What happens to my data if I stop working with them?

You don’t have to tackle everything at once. Start with your most important vendors and work from there.

It was a great morning of conversation and collaboration at the NH SBDC Small Business Round Table in Derry!

NH SBDC was thrilled to help host this event with the Town of Derry Economic Development, bringing together members of the local business community, economic development partners, and community leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing New Hampshire’s small businesses.

Thank you to Beverly Donovan, Economic Development Director for the Town of Derry, for helping bring everyone together, and to NH Economy, the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber, State Senator Regina Birdsell, State Representative Charles “Charlie” Foote, and State Representative Jodi Nelson for joining the conversation.

The business environment is always evolving, and conversations like these help us better understand the needs of small businesses and work together toward solutions. Thank you to everyone who participated!
