You are invited to the first ever Durham, NC screening of "Cages of Shame," an award winning documentary that depicts the heroic rescue of ten bears from a bear bile farm and explores the cruel bear bile industry. Thousands of bears are suffering on bear bile farms in China, Vietnam and South Korea and bears in NC are regularly killed and their gallbladders sold for similar purposes. Learn how you can help end this cruel industry and protect these bears from needless suffering.

Anyone else in NC passionate about this cause?

You don’t have to cycle thousands of kilometres, swim oceans or run a marathon to help Animals Asia – although it helps! The little things mean the world to us, which is why we’d like to take a moment to give our heartfelt thanks to Heidi Cope and her beautiful daughter.

They gave up their Sunday afternoon to spend the day outside their local supermarket handing out brochures and raising money for Animals Asia.

It’s a touching gesture that has helped bring our message to yet more people, and with every person who hears about the horrors of bear bile farming and resolves to end it, we get one step closer to the goal.

So from every one at Animals Asia – thank you Heidi, for everything you and your daughter do to help end the suffering.

Animals Asia NC Volunteer Group is holding a sidewalk fundraiser on Sunday May 4th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Durham Kroger located at 202 W NC Highway 54. Funds raised will go towards a new bear Sanctuary in China for 130 recently rescued bears. Thank you Kroger!!

Thank you HLN for helping to increase awareness of bear file farming.

The tide may finally be turning in favor of innocent bears long harvested in China for their bile. Now, 150 more drug stores in China announced they will no longer sell bear bile products bringing the total to more than 260 pharmacies and 11 companies in China that are saying no to bear bile.
