You are invited to attend the thirteenth lecture in our Schoolyard Forest Design Lecture Series on Thursday, February 6th at 11:00 AM PT/2:00 PM ET: “Living Schoolyards for Children’s Microbiome Health.”

We will be joined by Finland-based researchers, including Aki Sinkkonen (Natural Resources Institute Finland) and Kristian Ă…backa (Regional State Administrative Agency for Southern Finland), who will discuss research on how exposure to natural schoolyard materials versus artificial materials benefits children' s health, including a healthy gut microbiome. Their research points to yet another reason to design and promote nature play opportunities, as well as living schoolyards and schoolyard forests.

The lecture will be recorded and posted to our website for those of you who are unable to attend. We hope to see you there!
