For Sandy Cowan, advocacy is deeply personal. ๐Ÿ’™ Our Montclair, New Jersey Chapter Leader founded her chapter in 2009 in memory of her sister, Cary Anne, who lost her battle with cervical cancer. Since then, Sandy has donated more than $20,000 to Planned Parenthood to help expand access to care in her community.
On August 20, 2026, Sandy joined New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill for the signing of landmark legislation strengthening protections for reproductive and gender-affirming healthcare.
Her work is a powerful reminder of what can happen when we turn loss into purpose, and purpose into lasting change for women and families everywhere.
