Thank you to everyone who participated in and supported our 4th Annual CLL Wiffle Ball Tournament!

What I love the most about this event is seeing all ages from our community come together for one event. Kids, parents, alumni, and friends all sharing the same fields competing and playing together. A Wiffle ball is truly the greatest equalizer of age in all of sports!

I missed quite a few team photos but I will attach the ones I did take and feel free to add others to the comments!

Fall is in the air. School is back. And the Durham Fair is right around the corner.

That means it's almost time for CLL's biggest fundraiser and our annual challenge of feeding thousands of people an absolutely unreasonable amount of hot dogs.

The Durham Fair is 100% volunteer-run. No paid staff. No concession stand elves. Just CLL families keeping the grills hot, the lines moving, and the mustard flowing.

A few hours of your time helps support our league, keeps one of Connecticut's greatest traditions running strong, and ensures nobody leaves hungry.

The Fair doesn't happen because someone volunteers. It happens because YOU volunteer.

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

Come one, come all, the date you’ve been waiting for is here!

The 4th Annual Coginchaug Little League Wiffle Ball Tournament will take place on Saturday, August 29th (rain date: Sunday, August 30th).

Game times will be determined based on the number of registered teams, but plan for the tournament to run throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

To register, email [email protected] with your team name and roster. $40 reg fee paid at the event. No fee for teams made up of all CLL players.

There will be two brackets:

Bracket 1 – Open Division
• Open to players of any age.

Bracket 2 – Little League Division
• Each team must include at least two players who are eligible for the 2026 Little League season.
• The remaining roster spots may be filled by players of any age.

With heavy hearts, we reflect on the legacy of Alan “Al” Herzog, whose name proudly lives on at Herzog Field in the Coginchaug Complex.

Al played a vital role in bringing together Durham Little League and Middlefield Little League to form Coginchaug Little League in 1989. His vision and dedication helped create an organization that has touched countless lives and strengthened our community for generations.

We are deeply grateful for Al’s lasting contributions and the impact he made on so many families. His legacy will continue to live on every time a player steps onto Herzog Field.

Our thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt condolences are with the Herzog family during this difficult time. Thank you for sharing Al with our community—he will be remembered with gratitude and missed dearly.

What a ride.

Our 12U All-Stars capped off pool play last night with an unforgettable extra-inning walk-off win over North Branford, finishing the tournament with a 3-2 record and tied for second in our pool. Unfortunately, the tiebreaker wasn’t in our favor, bringing this incredible run to an end.

While the season ends here, these young men gave us every reason to be proud. They played with heart, grit, resilience, and never stopped believing in each other. They represented Coginchaug Little League the right way every time they took the field.

We’re incredibly proud of this team. Thank you, players, coaches, and families, for an unforgettable run.

The New York Mets donated some tickets to this Saturday's (6/27 4:10PM) game against the Phillies - we initially offered them to our great volunteers as a thank you - now its your chance. If you're a fan of Coginchaug, grab some tickets and have a good time in Queens. First Come First Served - we'll be in touch if you get'em before Friday! A limited amount remain!

The New York Mets have donated tickets to Coginchaug Little League for the upcoming 4:10PM June 27th game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citi Field in Queens New York. 🥎 Congratulations to our Guilford Little League players who represented our league this summer with the Coginchaug 12U All-Star team!

Kaleigh Quarato, Maya Timmeny, Presley O’Brien, and Avery Dill joined forces with Coginchaug for the District 9 tournament, and what a run they had. The team finished 2-2, coming up short to Glastonbury (5-4), and earning impressive wins over Rocky Hill (12-2) and HK (11-0) before their tournament came to an end.

Along the way:
⭐ Maya Timmeny recorded 25 strikeouts in two tournament victories, including a five-inning no-hitter against HK with 12 strikeouts.
⭐ Kaleigh Quarato pitched a complete game against Glastonbury and Cromwell and contributed at the plate and on the bases throughout the tournament.
⭐ Presley O’Brien collected key hits, drove in runs, and helped spark the offense during the team’s victories.
⭐ Avery Dill contributed offensively and showed patience at the plate, helping the team generate runs in the win over HK.

Most importantly, these four players represented Guilford with tremendous effort, sportsmanship, and pride.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Coginchaug Little League, the coaches, players, and families for welcoming our girls into your softball community this summer. The opportunity to compete together created new friendships, memorable experiences, and a true example of what Little League is all about.

Congratulations to Kaleigh, Maya, Presley, and Avery on a fantastic All-Star season. Guilford is proud of you! 💚🥎
