We're teaming up with the City of Durham this Sunday, October 18, for Together Table, a community event raising awareness about food insecurity and celebrating the work happening across Durham.

Expect live music, food, cooking demos, kids’ activities, and local vendors, plus a chance to connect with community resources and the organizations working to improve food access.

Volunteers like Vertina Webb (left) and Stacie Hewett (right) bring MOWD to life with their consistent service as inside helpers! From packing meals to expediting meals to delivery drivers, Vertina and Stacie are key components to getting meals to our clients' homes.

If you care about food security, senior health and wellness, and being part of an incredible volunteer community, MOWD is the place for you! Whether you've got time for an in-person route or want to volunteer remotely, we've got a spot with your name on it.

What can a meal change? For the homebound adults and seniors we serve, a meal can change the connections they maintain throughout the week, their ability to stay safely in their homes, and so many things that stem from food insecurity in Durham. And for our wonderful volunteers, a meal delivery or wellness call can broaden the scope of their world.

So, what can a meal change? Everything, really.

New city. New chapter. A little more support along the way. 🧡

A health emergency brought one of our neighbors from Hendersonville to Durham, closer to care at Duke. His social worker connected him with us, and now he's part of our produce box program, fresh food, delivered with care.

🦷🩵 Today, volunteers from the UNC Adams School of Dentistry delivered meals to Durham seniors as part of DEAH Day, an annual tradition where the dental school pauses classes and clinics to serve communities across the Triangle in honor of students whose lives were lost to tragedy a decade ago.

What started as remembrance has grown into something the ASOD community calls a lasting, positive legacy, carried forward through acts of services year after year. We're honored they chose to spend part of their legacy with us again today. Thank you, UNC School of Dentistry!🦷🩵

At Meals on Wheels Durham, we believe that showing up for our seniors and homebound adults starts with active service. Together, our delivery drivers, wellness callers, inside helpers, and other volunteers create meaningful change in our community!

We’re teaming up with United Way of the Greater Triangle to help get fresh food into the hands of families across our community.

We’ll be packing and distributing 850+ boxes filled with fresh produce and protein, including eggs, sweet potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes and more.

Come early, tell somebody who could use a box, and help us make sure this food gets where it needs to go.
