The Gottman Method gives you concrete, research-backed skills to understand and intervene in those patterns with clarity and confidence, making it a powerful foundation for any therapist.

Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1:
Bridging the Couple Chasm
Open to anyone interested in understanding how relationships work at a deeper, research-based level, as well as professionals beginning or advancing toward Gottman Method certification.

Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 2:
Assessment, Intervention, & Co-Morbidities
Designed for clinicians and advanced practitioners ready to sharpen their clinical edge with intensive, hands-on intervention practice, deeper case conceptualization, and confidence working with complex relational dynamics in real-world sessions.

What you’ll gain:
- Practical, structured tools for working with relationships
- Confidence managing conflict and stuck dynamics
- Skills grounded in cultural humility and awareness of power and privilege

Facilitated by Dr. Sheila Addison

Dr. Sheila Addison, LMFT (she/her), is a Certified Gottman Therapist with over 25 years of experience. She specializes in LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and consensually non-monogamous (CNM) relationships and is known for helping clinicians build inclusive, culturally responsive couples therapy practices. She has taught nationally, contributed to research and publications on q***r couple therapy and CNM, and serves as an AASECT Certified S*x Therapist and AAMFT Approved Supervisor.

Radical Healing is now recruiting clients for our sliding scale and pro bono program.

Radical healing’s sliding scale and pro bono program is supported by our clinical interns. Clinical interns are Master’s of Social Work and Clinical Mental Health Counseling candidates under the supervision of a licensed professional.

Weekly appointments will begin in September 2026 and end in April 2027.

These appointments will be offered on a sliding scale based on your self-assessment of your financial privilege. We will not ask you to share information on your income or assets with us.

Clinical Counseling Training Fellows are only available to provide care for clients who are residing in North Carolina.

Planning for that first day of Kindergarten and want to make sure your kiddo has all of their vaccine doses recommended for ages 4-6? We now carry all standard vaccines! We plan to soon offer care for children ages 0+ as well, so keep an eye out for updates.

Radical Healing offer mental health therapy services for individuals, couples, families, and groups. Our services are inclusive of both talk and body-based modalities such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and expressive arts therapy.

Our service is abundant, adaptable, and diverse, with over 30 in-house therapists and clinicians, and an additional 15 mental health professionals who work independently as our campus partners. The Radical Healing Collaborative includes practitioners specializing in everything from depression, anxiety, OCD, gender identity exploration to immigrant experiences to complex trauma and burnout.
