The Support Group List is Growing!
Have you ever attended a meeting to find support or resources on your journey after brain injury, stroke, aneurysm, or concussion?
There are more than 25 support groups currently meeting at in-person locations and/or virtually in communities across North Carolina. In an effort to connect these groups to each other and to facilitate the forming of new support groups, The Brain Injury Association of North Carolina is establishing a Charter Support Group Network.
How can you get involved? Join us on Wednesday, September 28 from 12noon – 1:30 pm for a Virtual open session discussion. We are looking for potential Support group leaders or activity coordinators to help with existing groups or to start new groups. You could start a group, in-person or online, to read a book together, or walk at a park together or meet at a coffee shop for conversation and support. The Brain Injury Association of NC can help you in your quest to be involved.
Leadership Legacy: Help us create a Leadership Legacy of volunteers, survivors, family members and professionals who are willing to help local groups either start up or remain strong. Could you take on a role for an existing group, such as sending reminders, planning community activities or organizing speakers? Could you target a focus group for spouses, parents, children or working adults.
