The North Carolina Preservation Consortium (NCPC) warmly invites proposals of papers, individual presentations, panel presentations, and posters from professionals and students for the conference to be held on Monday, November 9, 2026, at McKimmon Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The conference theme is “Preservation 250”. NCPC welcomes proposals that invite reflection on the people and ideas that shaped and continue to shape our national identity as relates to preservation of our country's cultural heritage over its 250 year history. Proposals can relate to all aspects of the preservation of collections, archives, historic and archaeological sites including, but not limited to:
-Resource challenges
-Collection management workflows
-Conservation of materials
-Memorializations and commemorizations
-Collective and community memory
-Outreach and access

Please submit your proposals by Friday, September 18, at 11:59PM. NCPC will notify presenters if their proposal has been selected by Friday, October 2nd. If your proposal is accepted all presenters will be responsible for registering for the conference at the applicable rate of $80 for members, $105 for non-members, and $35 for students. Registration includes a one-year individual membership for non-members and students.

NCPC Preservation Grant Applications Deadline Extended Until May 15!

Open to Both Individual and Institutional Members!

The North Carolina Preservation Consortium awards grants up to $2,000 for projects related to preservation assessments, collection assessments, preservation consultations, preservation project work (physical treatment), environmental monitoring equipment, storage furniture and enclosures, digital and media storage, tools and equipment, conservation of collections, education and training, or interpretation and accessibility.

The application window is now open, and proposals from institutional as well as individual members are eligible for consideration!
