Greetings,

The RTP BBRG has kicked-off our annual Scholarship program for 2014. We are offering scholarships to graduating high school students in Wake, Durham, and Orange counties. This scholarship will be awarded to upcoming college freshmen for the 2014 Fall semester. Please join in and help to spread the word within your communities about this wonderful opportunity! This scholarship is NOT available to students who have a parent or guardian employed at IBM.

Information about the scholarship and the 2014 application have been provided below.

Candidates:

The RTP Black Business Resource Group, formerly known as the RTP Black Diversity Network Group, is now accepting applications for our 2014 Drive for Education Scholarship. Our mission is to embrace and support each other to achieve our aspirations, by reaching out, reaching back and propelling each other forward. As we continue to expand our reach and presence within the communities, we understand none of us is as strong as all of us so we are here to help support our growing communities. This scholarship has been established to provide opportunities for graduating African American high school students in the Wake, Durham and Orange Counties who are making a difference through the achievement of their educational goals. The recipient of this award will be granted a minimum $500.00 scholarship to be used at any accredited two or four year college or university.

Enclosed is an application form for the RTP Black Business Resource Group Scholarship or you can access the 2014 scholarship application on-line at http://drive4education.org./ This application is to be completed in full, signed and returned to the RTP Black Business Resource Group on or before May 3, 2014.
