Our vision is to become a multifaceted resource in our community and beyond, providing essential services and education for young parents. We focus on developing our young parents’ social, psychological, and academic development in efforts to decrease high school dropout rates due to early parenthood. Our young parents’ mindsets shift and cultivate from Survival to Spark, and Poverty to Sustainability through education and connecting with community partners that focus on career paths to enhance financial stability and self-development.

✨ When we see Deja on the mic, we already know… it’s about to be a GOOD time! 🎤✨

Our amazing H.E.A.R.T.S. Advocacy Coach Raven pictured here with the incredible moderator/ coordinator at the TIPP Graduation celebration. Every time we attend a TIPP event and see her face or hear her voice on the mic, we know the room is about to be filled with energy, laughter, and joy.

Her cheerful, happy, and bubbly spirit lights up the entire room. You can truly see the passion and love she has for what she does — and it makes every moment more meaningful for the families and graduates being celebrated.

We’re so thankful for people like her who bring life, encouragement, and excitement to moments that matter. 💛

🚨 OUR NUMBERS ARE IN! 🚨

And because of YOU… we didn’t just reach our goal — we surpassed it by 253%! 🎉❤️

Our original goal was $10,000, but through the generosity of our incredible community, over $35,000 was raised!

This happened because of you — our supporters, volunteers, Board of Directors, community partners, corporate sponsors, and everyday people who believe in the mission of H.E.A.R.T.S. Your donations, encouragement, and commitment made this possible.

Because of this outpouring of love, we will now be able to serve 70 additional participants at $500 per participant, providing:
✨ Advocacy
✨ Coaching & mentorship
✨ Stability & emergency support services
✨ Resources for young families
✨ And so much more

We truly could not do this work alone. It takes a village — a community that believes that when we invest in families, we strengthen our entire community.

Here’s to strong women. 👑

May we see them.
May we know them.
And may we become them.

Because life, motherhood, and purpose can place so much weight on our shoulders. As women—especially as moms—we often carry the responsibilities, the worries, the dreams, and the hopes for everyone around us. Some days we do it with grace, and other days we’re just doing the best we can.

That’s why it takes a tribe. It takes a village.

A sister who reminds you who you are when you forget.
A friend who listens when your heart is heavy.
A mentor who guides you when the path isn’t clear.
A role model who shows you what’s possible.

Women who will adjust your crown when it tilts, lift your head when it hangs low, and sometimes even help carry the weight when it feels too heavy to hold alone.

To the women who show up, stand strong, and pour into others—we see you. And we’re grateful for you. 💫

Today was a beautiful day of celebration, inspiration, and community! 🎓✨

Our H.E.A.R.T.S. Program joined our grant partners TIPP/PPI in celebrating the incredible 2026 graduates at a special event held at Discovery Place in Charlotte. The day was filled with fellowship, fun, learning, and powerful moments of celebration as we honored the hard work and resilience of these amazing young people.

Our entire team was proud to come out and congratulate Kayden on her graduation this year. Kayden’s journey is a true story of perseverance and overcoming obstacles. While maintaining a 3.5 GPA, she also worked two jobs and still made time to play basketball. Her dedication and determination are truly inspiring.

Kayden is living proof that your story does not have to end where it began. With hard work, support, and faith in yourself, the future can be brighter than you ever imagined.

We are so proud of you, Kayden! The best is still ahead. ❤️👏

For some, that moment brought fear.
For others, uncertainty.
But for many women, it also became the beginning of a powerful story of strength, growth, and resilience.

At H.E.A.R.T.S., we meet so many incredible volunteers, mentors, and community supporters who tell us that our mission resonates with them because they were once teen parents too.

Heart To Heart ♥️

Every now and then in life, you’re blessed to encounter someone who doesn’t just support your mission—they make it their own. Someone who stands behind the vision, helps catapult it forward, pushes you when you need it, holds you accountable, mentors you, and pours into you in ways that truly make a difference.


They’re there through the highs, the lows, and every moment in between.

I’m incredibly grateful to have people like that who have stood beside me since the very beginning of H.E.A.R.T.S.—people who believed in the mission, invested in the work, and helped build what we continue to stand on today.

As the world evolves and our community grows, we’re still standing strong because of the powerful connections and relationships that have carried us forward.

When parents read with their children, they’re not just sharing a book—they’re building language, confidence, imagination, and a lifelong love for learning.

At just 16 years old, Maya Angelou became a teen mother. Many would have counted her out or assumed her story would be limited by statistics.

But Maya Angelou defied the odds.

She went on to become one of the most powerful voices in literature, poetry, and civil rights, inspiring generations through her words, her courage, and her resilience. From raising her son as a young mother to becoming a world-renowned author, poet, and activist, her life reminds us that our beginnings do not determine our destiny.

At H.E.A.R.T.S., we honor women like Maya Angelou who show us that strength, perseverance, and purpose can rise from any circumstance. Her story is a reminder to the young parents and families we serve that their future is still full of possibility.

Today our Fatherhood Program Advocacy Coach, Coach Dom, had the opportunity to speak at Durham Public Schools to a room full of incredible social workers who pour into our youth every single day.

It was powerful to stand in front of people who advocate tirelessly for young people — professionals who are just as passionate about connecting them to resources and helping them reach better outcomes as we are.

At H.E.A.R.T.S., we believe the work is stronger when we work together. Partnerships with schools, community organizations, and advocates like these make it possible for us to find these young men, reach them, mentor them, and build them up into strong fathers and leaders who will strengthen the future of our community.

We are committed to continuing to collaborate with organizations across Durham to identify teen boys and young men who need guidance, support, and brotherhood.

If you are part of an organization, school, program, or community group that works with teen boys or young men ages 13–22, let’s connect.

Let’s work together to reach them, build them, and empower them.
