Durham Alumni Chapter Of Phi Beta Sigma The Durham Alumni Chapter strives to constantly return something of value to the community from which it springs. The charter members were Brothers W.W. M. S. P.

Delta Zeta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity was founded in 1961. Bolden, James Cheek, N.B. Cheek, Lionel Cook, Sedrick Cuthbertson, Leonard Davis, Lemarque Dejarmon, Ronald Forman, Sr., C.G. Gates, Walter M. Grandy, Thomas A. Hammie, John Harrell, H. Holmes, J. Houston, L. Knox, James Moffitt, E. Norris, MD., John Peel, Joseph Settles and Ralph Yokley. These twenty (20) men came from all over the U.S.A. to bring Durham, N.C. this Grand Chapter of Sigma.

The brothers of the Delta Zeta Sigma Chapter gathered today for our annual Chapter Retreat! This dedicated time allowed us to handle the essential business of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., while focusing heavily on what matters most: strengthening our brotherhood and planning for the future. We looked back at our achievements, mapped out our strategic goals, and brainstormed new ways to make our community service and programming even more impactful. We are walking away from this retreat re-energized and deeply aligned to elevate our chapter's contributions to the next level.

The future is bright, and the work goes on!

The Delta Zeta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. pulled up STRONG to welcome the scholars of IDYL School back for Day One — and the energy was off the charts.

The students came in READY — smiling, excited, backpacks on, already locked in for a year of learning, growing, reconnecting with friends, and making new ones. You could feel the momentum as soon as those doors opened.

And the love was mutual — the brothers were hyped to be there, and the students and staff showed nothing but appreciation. This is what Culture for Service looks like in real time.

Big year loading… and we’re right here for it.

The Delta Zeta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. transformed The Durham Armory into a retro time capsule last night with our 70s & 80s Blue Light Basement Party. Velvet suits, wide‑brim hats, bold patterns, and Soul Train‑inspired flair set the tone as brothers and guests danced, laughed, and embraced the authentic basement‑party vibe. The music stayed live, the outfits stayed loud, and the energy stayed high from start to finish.

We also proudly acknowledge our Sisters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., whose Finer Womanhood, style, and support elevated the entire experience. Their presence reminded everyone that the strength of Blue & White comes from unity, love, and shared purpose. Together, Sigmas and Zetas made the night unforgettable — a perfect blend of nostalgia, fellowship, and pure Blue & White magic.

The Bull City Sigmas are always glad to be a part of the community. We are grateful to be able to work with other community organizations at the invitation of Durham County Sheriff Clarence Birkhead. Thanks to the support of our followers we gave away hundreds of school supplies and hygiene products to children in Durham County on Saturday, August 1st.
