Hiiiiiii neighbors. The community fridge at St. Joes (1902 W. Main Street) needs some help🙏🏽 we recently upgraded the fridge, but it has had intermittent issues with cooling this past week. UPDATE🗣️ The St. Joes pantry space is getting upgraded and we’ve had to move some things around temporarily. The metal pantry/shed we’ve been using has been moved closer to the fence where it will be until the build is done. Scroll through pics to see the new pantry design🤘🏽 but for now, things look a little discombobulated 🧩 we’ll keep y’all updated on the build, we’re planning to finish by the end of next weekend⚡️

NOTICIA 🗣️ Estamos renovando el espacio de la despensa de St. Joes y hemos tenido que reorganizar algunas cosas temporalmente. La despensa metálica que veníamos usando se movio más cerca de la valla, donde estará hasta que terminemos las obras. Desliza las fotos para ver el nuevo diseño de la despensa 🤘🏽, aunque por ahora todo se vea un poco desordenado 🧩. Lxs mantendremos al tanto del avance; planeamos terminar para finales del próximo fin de semana ⚡️.

Feeling ~nostalgic~ looking back at the footage of the community fridge build outside of Omie’s Coffee Shop. The first picture is during our first meeting with Addison, visualizing where a community fridge could go. Then, photos of each stage of the construction, including photos from every work day we had where DCF volunteers and community members came by to help with the build, bring us food, ask us what we’re up to, etc. The last few pictures are from the opening party we hosted. The process took many months, but it was special and we learned a lot. While the fridge didn’t last as long as we hoped it would outside of Omie’s, and eventually had to be moved to its new home outside of Braggtown Baptist Church, it was worth the sweat and tears that we shared behind the scenes.

Hey y’all, we’re working hard to replace the fridge @ braggtown baptist church and we hope to have the new fridge installed in the next week or so. The pantry is still included in the temporary closure. Will update once the space is back open. Thanks for your patience as always.
