Help Feed Durham feed local moms who could use an enjoyable meal this Mother's Day. We support a few single-parent households and unhoused mothers. We'd like to give them gift cards so they can share a sweet meal with their children. Please donate today to help us do so. Any excess funds we raise will be used for ongoing support of the families we help.

ABOUT FEED DURHAM
Feed Durham is a scrappy mutual aid collective that came together in response to mounting hunger in the Durham area, due to COVID. Since 2020, we've fed 225,000 neighbors in need through our sprawling no-contact cookouts, where we lovingly prepare meals for 500 people per day, and offer grocery give-aways. Through dozens of community partnerships, we feed elders, people living in cars and on the streets, widows, unsupported LGBTQ+ folks, undocumented families, the homebound and chronically ill, elementary students and their families. Most of our volunteers are community organizers, teachers, artists, farmers, parents, and every day goodhearted people.  We are a multi-faith, multi-racial, intergenerational collective.  We believe that we are only as safe as our least hungry neighbor. We serve more than just food. We serve hope.

This April, Feed Durham turns 6! Established in 2020, we've fed 225,000+ neighbors in need through cookouts, giveaways, and sharing thousands of plant starts. We've hosted a multimedia exhibit at Durham Arts Council, surthrival skillshares, free photo shoots for unhoused neighbors, and more. We've done all of this on the strength of our relationships and our organizing. We have offered every support for free.

Thank you to the many hundreds of volunteers, stewards, and donors who have collaborated with us over the years - cooking with Feed Durham, soliciting and transporting supplies, fundraising and recruiting resources for us, donating vegetables and starts from your farms or personal gardens, organizing supply drives and giveaways, setting up gardens to keep our neighbors fed. Thank you to the businesses that have supported us - Cocoa Cinnamon, Little Waves Coffee Roasters , 21C, Full Steam, Manifest Skate Shop, Bulldega, Happy Dirt, 9th Street Bakery, Red Tail Grains, Maple Spring Gardens, Red Start Foods, Durham Co-Op Market, the Durham Hotel, Queenys, Alley 26, M Restaurants, Pizzeria Toro, Piedmont Wine Imports, Nugget, Boricua Soul, and more. Thank you also to the partnerships that help us maximize our support for neighbors - Community Health Coalition, Part + Parcel, Durham Rapid Response, Root Causes, Equity Before Birth, Black Farmers Market, ReCity Network, TheLRoom, Refugee Community Partners, Bragtown Community Garden, and more.

In 2026, there's much more we can do to strengthen and protect our community from rising costs through simple, consistent practices like growing food for and learning skills from one another. Through simple, consistent practices that reconnect us we can forge the world we need and deserve. As systems continue to quake and buckle, one thing is clear: the community we practice to be for one another is truly all that we have. Please join Feed Durham on our journey to keep one another safe, fed, and well.
