Geared towards students in grades 3-12. Workshops:
Planned and offered to adult groups.

The Bull City Woodshop is a youth centered organization that guides individual development, fosters community connection, and cultivates creativity through woodworking. Founded in 2021, The Bull City Woodshop was created to empower youth in their abilities through woodworking education and mentorship.

Our goal is for every student who enters the program to leave The Woodshop with an increased co

nfidence in their own abilities to be a successful and contributing citizen to our community. Our goal is to provide high quality woodworking instruction which will prepare participants to enter higher education or a skilled trade with confidence and resources. At the end of each workshop, participants will take home a completed project that they have built in the Bull City Woodshop. (Cost paid by participant based on the project selected- profits from this program will aid in funding the after school program)

After a 45-year career as a software engineer at IBM, Michael picked up furniture refinishing, woodworking, and pen turning to explore new creative hobbies in preparation for retirement. A frequent student at the Bull City Woodshop, he is now stepping into a volunteer role as a newly retired shop member. Michael enjoys spending time in Open Shop and is eager to lend a hand with cleaning, organizing, and assisting with classes. He looks forward to continually expanding his own woodworking skills while giving back to the woodshop community, and we are equally as excited to have him join the volunteer crew! Welcome

Don’t miss out on our new series of self-paced adult woodshop development skills training workshops beginning this September!

Weekly Woodworking Workshop is your chance to become the woodworker you always wanted to be 🌱

Designed specifically for beginners, students work through multiple exciting projects, learn new techniques, gain more skills, and create beautiful pieces to take home along the way!

We know how busy life gets, so WWW is designed to be flexible and fit your schedule. As an individual-based course, you proceed through the curriculum at your own speed. Attending every week is never mandatory. Just come in any week you are free during one of our sessions and pick up where you left off!

Introducing our newest workshop series launching this September, Weekly Woodworking Workshop (also known as WWW)!

This project-based workshop series is specifically designed with beginners in mind, who will build consistent woodworking skills by working through our project-based curriculum at their own pace.

Get busy? WWW works flexibly around your schedule! Take a break for a week or two and continue where you left off in any weekly session!

This guided introduction to woodworking is the perfect way to start your woodworking journey without the pressure of getting things done in one class!

WWW will be hosted weekly on Saturdays at 10 AM. Each class runs for two and a half hours, and all materials are provided.

Our first session will be on Saturday, September 19th, from 10 AM-12:30 PM

Here, you'll be able to get a behind-the-scenes look at our projects, ask any questions you'd like, meet our passionate team members and volunteers, engage with our community, and enjoy the light food and entertainment provided.

You can expect:

🪑 Woodturning Demos, to get a taste of what we do best and a great look into the craft!

🎓 Student Project Demos, which we are always so proud to show off what our students can do!

✒️ A DIY Engraving Station, for some personalized fun!

🚪 Shop Tours, to get acquainted with our beautiful space and processes!

🗺️ A Scavenger Hunt and Prizes, to get everyone excited, with a chance to win some amazing prizes!

🔨 $1 Tool Raffles, your opportunity to get great tools for an even better price!

🍴 Light Food, to snack on and enjoy during the festivities!
