The show is about the tradeoffs people make in urban development and politics – so why is it called “Radio Golf”? Answer: Roosevelt Hicks (Gus Hummings). This trusted banker and business partner has a plan to buy the local radio station. But his passion for golf – and all things Tiger Woods – makes for humorous moments and a decisive plot twist.

Deals happen on and off the fairway in August Wilson’s Radio Golf, heading into tech week and opening on October 22nd at the Durham Arts Council . Tickets available at: https://switchtheatreco.ludus.com/

Partnerships are the key to success in life. Mame Wilks (Shamere Reid) is the fierce, ambitious PR director spearheading Wilks Realty’s big redevelopment project. Her wagon is permanently hitched to Harmond’s run for mayor too, and she expects him to see both projects to the end. Successfully.

How much can one person expect from a spouse? The question goes both ways in August Wilson's Radio Golf, opening October 22nd at the Durham Arts Council!

It’s election time! Meet Harmond Wilks (Deandre Sanders), successful real estate developer, campaigning to become the first Black mayor of Pittsburgh. He is also in the midst of transforming his old home neighborhood into a shining example of residential and commercial synergy. Current residents, though, may have something to say about that.

“Redevelopment” means many things in August Wilson’s Radio Golf, opening October 22nd at the Arts Council . Purchase tickets: https://switchtheatreco.ludus.com/

Ahoy, Durham! Today and Saturday are your final chance to sail away with the crew of The Horizon – or the British do-gooders aboard The Vengeance – with Pirates! A Boy At Sea. It’s a sword-fighting, shark-philosophizing, family-affirming adventure through Jim's magical treasure chest, July 24th and 25th.

Thanks to our partnership with The River Durham , all tickets are pay-what-you-can. Reservations are recommended so book now: https://switchtheatreco.ludus.com/index.php

Hook vs Pan. Vader vs Skywalker. McGovern (David Holt) vs Freely (Akili Gathers). Their battles are legendary, especially when seen from a child’s viewpoint. Parents, can you relate?

A lot of fun and action, and some poignant food for thought, are sailing your way with Pirates! A Boy At Sea. One more matinee at 2pm today (7/19) at Burning Coal Theatre , before we set sail for Durham next week ! Tickets available at the door or online: https://switchtheatreco.ludus.com/index.php

It’s hard to find good help. Handsome Harry (Lydia Sayers) has only mastered the shovel and the ladle as weapons, while scheming Sneep (Bryan Squires) is looking for any opportunity to become captain. Fortunately, they’ve mastered Captain Freely’s (Akili Gathers) official pirate song – and choreography.

Today is opening day/night for Pirates! A Boy At Sea. Playing at 2pm and 7pm today (7/18), and one more matinee on 7/19 at Burning Coal Theatre . Tickets available at the door or online: https://switchtheatreco.ludus.com/index.php

If you’ve ever thought about escaping the real world through a magical treasure chest (and who hasn't these days), best talk to Jim Watts (Devin Jacobs) first. Captain Freely (Akili Gathers) is surprisingly picky when it comes to taking on new crew members – even ones wearing “jim jams.”

One more day until Pirates! A Boy At Sea opens at Burning Coal Theatre ! We have three shows to choose from this weekend, July 18 & 19. Tickets: https://switchtheatreco.ludus.com/index.php
