🇦🇿 Sharing Azerbaijan at the Fayetteville Folk Festival
Yesterday the Azerbaijan Friendship Organization was proud to take part in the Fayetteville Folk Festival! We shared Azerbaijani culture with visitors of all ages and handed out information cards about where Azerbaijan is, the Land of Fire on the Caspian Sea, and about the work of our nonprofit.
A special highlight was Laleh’s beautiful, graceful Azerbaijani dance, which captivated everyone watching. 💃 Then came the most joyful moment of the day: our American friends joined hands with us to dance Yallı, the traditional Azerbaijani circle dance! Seeing everyone dancing together, smiling and learning the steps, showed what cultural friendship is all about. 🤝
Many visitors were learning about Azerbaijan for the first time, and we loved every conversation. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, and to the festival organizers for welcoming us.
Our cards also included a short note about September 27, Remembrance Day. We honor those who lost their lives, and we share our hope for lasting peace. Friendship between communities begins with moments like these: a dance, a smile, and learning about each other’s cultures. 🕊️
See you at the next event! 💙❤️💚
