One year ago this week, I stepped into the full-time role of Executive Director of Harper’s Home.
Twelve months later, I’m not sure I’ve fully processed all that has happened.
In the past year, we’ve welcomed families into housing close to care, provided hundreds of nights of stability during pediatric medical treatment, broken ground on our future campus, grown our community of supporters, and continued building something I once could only imagine.
It has also been a year of hard lessons, big risks, long days, financial realities, problem-solving, and more spreadsheets, meetings, emails, and construction conversations than I knew existed.
Some days have felt inspiring. Some have felt impossibly heavy. Most have been both.
But through it all, one thing has remained clear: this work matters.
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has believed in Harper’s Home, supported our mission, opened doors, shared our story, volunteered, donated, encouraged, and helped carry this vision forward.
One year down. A lot more work ahead. And I’m still incredibly honored to be doing it.
