Can you imagine a world without the elephant? African Forest Elephants are critically endangered. They spend 20 hours a day forgaing for food. Highly intelligent and communicative animals, they live in groups of about 20 led by a dominant female. One of the largest land animals, they are worth saving!

The Walltown Children's Theatre received a grant of $1,000 to help with tuition for students in their summer programs. Cara Williams, Executive Director, gave Lynn Odom and Shirley Colpitts a tour of the theater. It's an exciting place doing wonderful work with children and teens - dance, vocal and theater.

Hawksbill turtles are another endangered species. They are "a fundamental link in marine ecosystems and help maintain the health of coral reefs and seagrass beds." Their distinctive pattern of overlapping scales on their shells them highly valuable and commonly sold as "tortoiseshell" in markets.
