Today and throughout the month of June, The Bridge International is celebrating six years as a nonprofit organization!

It has been an incredible journey serving individuals who have experienced human trafficking throughout the RDU region and across North Carolina.

Although our launch was reshaped by the COVID-19 pandemic, we quickly learned that one of our greatest strengths was our ability to adapt and persevere. Our mission compelled us to creatively partner with agencies that were serving remotely, and we remained committed to providing safe, compassionate care to our clients during an unprecedented time.

In the years that followed, we navigated financial uncertainty as communities worked to rebuild and establish a new normal. Yet through every challenge, your support carried us forward.

Now, in 2026, we are proud to celebrate what we have accomplished together. Since our founding, we have served more than 160 clients, reached nearly 20,000 individuals through outreach efforts, and developed meaningful partnerships that have expanded the care and services available to clients of all ages and backgrounds.

It has truly been an honor to serve alongside each of you. Our Board of Directors and I are excited about what lies ahead as we continue to broaden our impact and build bridges to hope, healing, and opportunity.

Thank you for your grace, advice, encouragement, support, and trust over the past six years. We would not be where we are today without you, and we look forward to all that we will accomplish together in the years to come.

Kathy

Hello Bridge Builders!

We are currently serving three families with urgent housing needs. Two families have been displaced due to the circumstances surrounding their experiences, and one family has secured housing but needs assistance covering the costs to move into their new home.

The Bridge International is respectfully seeking corporate sponsorships, financial contributions, or other forms of support to help provide safe and stable housing for these women and their children.

Donations can be made through our website or via Venmo at -International. For questions, partnership opportunities, or to discuss ways to support these families, please contact Kathy at [email protected].

Thank you for choosing to stand with us as we continue bridging gaps in support, safety, and hope for the families we serve.

Hey there, Bridge Builders — Kathy here!

I’m stopping by to thank YOU for your unwavering support and dedication. Because of you, The Bridge International has had the capacity to serve 160 clients (both s*x and labor trafficking) and their families through our case management services since 2020!

We are deeply grateful for every board member, volunteer, sponsor, partner, and donor who has poured into our mission of bridging gaps in services for individuals who have experienced human trafficking.

Case management is often much more than referrals — it’s building community, brainstorming creative ways to maintain a client’s safety while connecting them to resources, and walking alongside individuals as they explore how to rebuild their lives on their own terms.
Our team relies on the integrity, compassion, and commitment of each of you to help ensure our clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. Partnering with you has taught us so much, and we are incredibly thankful to continue growing together.

If you’d like to learn more about ways to connect (preferably over coffee ☕️) and become your own version of a Bridge Builder, email me at [email protected].

Thank you for continuing to build bridges with us!

Happy Mother’s Day! 💐

Today, we celebrate the many mothers who have courageously chosen to seek case management services for themselves and their families — especially the eleven moms currently on our caseload. These incredibly resilient, loving, and determined individuals continuously advocate for themselves and their children as they build lives rooted in joy, healing, and perseverance. It is truly an honor to serve and support them.

At the same time, we hold space for those who may experience complex emotions or difficult circumstances surrounding this holiday. We recognize that every journey is unique, and our case management services are designed to meet each client where they are — honoring every individual with compassion, dignity, and respect for their lived experiences.

Because case management services are about so much more than referrals, we are inviting each of you to partner with us by giving $10 toward our clients’ goals and immediate needs. Many of our clients are in need of gas cards, diapers, essential clothing items that are not readily available through donations, and opportunities to pursue classes and certifications such as CPR training.

Your support helps remove barriers and creates pathways toward stability, growth, and empowerment. Partner with us by donating through our Venmo account (@ TheBridge-International). Thank you for standing alongside our clients and their families.

Human trafficking in the fields is often a “hidden crisis,” but the red flags are visible if you know what to look for. 🚩 From confiscated passports to restricted movement and unsafe living conditions, traffickers use isolation and basic-needs insecurity to maintain control.

Common Red Flags:

🚫 Financial Control: Withholding documents or pay.

🔒 Restricted Movement: Preventing workers from leaving or contacting family.

🏚️ Substandard Housing: Lack of clean water, heat, or sanitation.

Let’s shine a light on these practices and ensure every worker in NC has access to safety and dignity.

🌾 This Women’s Month, we are honoring the hands that feed us. In North Carolina and across the country, thousands of women labor in the fields, facing unique and severe vulnerabilities.

Understanding the intersection of seasonal work, systemic isolation, and exploitation is crucial. The nature of this essential work often keeps these women in the shadows, increasing their risk of labor and s*x trafficking.

We are calling for greater visibility, resources, and protection for women farmworkers. It is time to see the intersection of s*x and labor trafficking in the fields and address the dual threat that many face every day.

Join us in raising awareness and advocating for change.

All week long we will bringing awareness about how we partner with our local farmworker communities, but for today we’d like to focus on just saying thank you.

Their sacrifice and dedication to our lives is valued and celebrated.
