🌼 WE’VE BEEN INVITED TO CELEBRATE DÍA DE LOS MU***OS! 🌼

On October 29th, The Bridge International has been invited to participate in a special Día de los Mu***os community event, and we couldn’t be more excited!

This event is especially meaningful to us!
Our MSW intern, Wendy, has taken the lead in planning our participation entirely on her own! With thoughtfulness, creativity, and cultural sensitivity, she has developed a beautiful vision for our table that honors the traditions of Día de los Mu***os while creating a respectful and welcoming space to raise awareness about human trafficking and the individuals who have experienced it.

We are incredibly proud of Wendy’s initiative and the care she is putting into making our presence meaningful for the community.

Every survivor deserves the opportunity to heal, feel supported, and access the mental health care they need.

Individuals who have experienced human trafficking often face barriers to accessing mental health services. This World Mental Health Day, The Bridge International is raising awareness and taking action to help make trauma-informed care accessible to survivors.

🎈 This year, I have ONE birthday wish.
And it isn’t for me. 💜

For my birthday, I’m asking friends, family, community, and supporters of The Bridge International to help me give something truly special to the survivor families we serve:

🎪 A FULL DAY OF CARNIVAL FUN! 🎪
A day filled with food, drinks, games, music, laughter, activities, and the kind of carefree fun every family deserves.

Our survivor clients and their families spend enough time navigating hard things.

For one day, we want them to simply BE TOGETHER.

To play. To laugh. To make memories. And to experience the simple joy of being celebrated.

🎉 The Bridge International is headed to La Fiesta del Pueblo this Sunday, and we could not be happier! 🇦🇷🇧🇴🇨🇱🇨🇴🇨🇷🇨🇺🇩🇴🇪🇨🇸🇻🇲🇽🇪🇸🇵🇷

Our presence at La Fiesta del Pueblo last year opened doors to meaningful connections. We were able to identify individuals who had experienced human trafficking, connect with incredible volunteers, and even meet one of our current board members!

This year, we’re coming back with even more excitement and intention.

We’ll have culturally sensitive goodies at our table, and all of our educational materials will be available in both Spanish and English. We’ve even found a fun way to keep our younger friends entertained while we talk with parents about The Bridge International and the services we provide.

We believe that bringing human trafficking awareness directly into our communities is an important part of creating safer, more informed communities—and we’re honored to be there.

We’re currently looking for a few community and corporate sponsors to help cover tabling supplies and program expenses so we can continue bringing this important work to our communities.

Honoring and Celebrating Today and All Month Long!

It is an incredible honor to serve Latino and Hispanic communities throughout North Carolina. Being able to offer individuals who have experienced human trafficking a culturally sensitive approach to case management has allowed us to build meaningful partnerships with clients who, despite their experiences, continue to demonstrate incredible hope, strength, and resilience.

Our team remains committed to providing holistic, compassionate care to everyone who engages in our services. We are honored to walk alongside survivors, recognize their unique experiences and cultural backgrounds, and help connect them with the resources and support they need to move forward.

This month, we celebrate culture, honor resilience, and recognize the strength within our communities.

On this day, we acknowledge the loss of life and tragedy that was and continues to be 9/11. We believe that all life is sacred and deserving of dignity. No loss of life is ok, and yet it is a part of our existence here on Earth.

We also acknowledge that we live in a very different world post this tragedy 25 years ago today, and that we will continue to pursue cultural humility in all the work that we do, hoping to be better than we were in the days that follow.

All life is valuable.
All life is worthy of love and respect.

I cannot thank you enough for the incredible support you’ve shown this week! I’m grateful to share that the individual who needed to leave North Carolina has made it safely to their destination.

Thank you to everyone who contributed toward their care, offered encouragement, and kept them in your thoughts and well wishes. Your generosity and compassion truly made a difference and had a meaningful impact on the life of our client.

We are so grateful to have a community that continues to show up when it matters most.
