Durango Kennel Club (DKC) is a group of passionate, fun dog lovers with members from the Four Corners area who own purebred and/or mix breed dogs and share an interest in canine activities and welfare. We are licensed under the American Kennel Club (AKC). DKC offers an array of activities, including hosting a 4-day all-breed conformation show in May, an agility trial in August, training lasses twice a year and Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog Testing. All breeds are welcome and you do not have to have an AKC registered dog to participate. We meet at the La Plata Fairgrounds at 7 pm on the first Thursday of each month (unless otherwise noted on the News page). Please enjoy exploring our site. If you would like to learn more about the activities you can share with your dog, visit our resources page and navigate to the Learning Library. This page provides loads of information on dog activities and how you can get started. Our events page gives you a snapshot of what's happening and includes a calendar of events we have planned for the year. Plus much more. If you need additional information, just contact us, we look forward to meeting you! Be sure and join our mailing list so we can keep you informed of updates. Or become a member now by filling out the application (click on application)! Being a part of the DKC club enables you to enjoy the camaraderie of other dog lovers in a relaxed, positive atmosphere. DKC members work together to help put on events, create affordable learning opportunities and host trials. In addition, you'll receive a monthly newsletter and get discounts on some activities.
