Desde sus inicios, la voz de la comunidad ha sido nuestra estrella polar, 🌟 guiando todo lo que hace la Coalición. Ahora es el momento de preguntarle a USTED: «¿Qué viene después?».

We know that access to childcare is necessary for food security, because when parents can go to work, they can put nourishing food on the table. That's why on May 11th, providers, parents, and allies came together to strike for universal child care and thriving wages for providers. We participated in this national campaign to win universal childcare for every child and family, and to raise awareness about the childcare crisis in La Plata County.

Need milk at 2 AM in a town of 580 people? No problem!

Lauren, our intrepid Food Security Director, is back from the National Rural Grocery Summit, and blown away with all of the innovation happening in hometown grocery stores! One of the coolest things she saw? A 24/7 self-service grocery store in a town of 580 residents. Imagine being able to grab the food you need, whenever you need it. 🙌

In the name of improving food security on "the dry side," about 50 folks, including farmers, healthcare workers, educators, government staff, businesses, community members, and non-profits gathered in May. The goal? Work together to eliminate hunger, promote dignity, and build a healthier, more resilient community.

The Day of Action was hosted by the Southwest Community Food Alliance (SWCFA), which is a network of food access organizations, government agencies, and community members dedicated to improving food security across Montezuma and Dolores Counties and the Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Nation.

We connected, we talked story, and we did some real collective problem solving! Thanks so much to all who participated!

We've been crunching the numbers on all we accomplished in 2025, and let’s just say the results are more satisfying than a crisp autumn apple!

We're in awe of what this community has managed to cultivate together. Whether you're a local farmer tending the soil, a school dining director feeding our kids, a bustling food pantry making sure our community doesn't go hungry, a caregiver, a business owner, a voter, a member of a committee, a volunteer, or a simple lover of food, the sheer impact of our collective work is enough to make a beet blush!

YOU are the secret ingredient that makes our food system go round. Want to help us keep our food system resilient and community-powered? A $5 monthly donation takes a big bite out of food insecurity: www.goodfoodcollective.org/donate (Link in bio)

Want to take action to solve the root causes of food insecurity this summer? One way is to collect signatures to include "Protect Colorado's Future" on the ballot this election.

Colorado’s tax laws have led to a major budget shortfall that short-changes key areas affecting food security. The “Protect Colorado’s Future” ballot measure would raise $2 billion of new revenue for education, healthcare, and child care, while decreasing taxes for 97% of Coloradans who make under $500K a year.

We need 125,000 signatures by August 1st. Sign up to get trained: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfYuQXCFyMCJMbA5pE6930n06MSiyoJ0h8Nl9W6t8ZcIoVcDA/viewform
