Exciting news!!

The MAVWA Board met Tuesday night to review the responses from the Festival Venue poll.
Our current and past members favored Durango as a future venue.

Taking our members’ and past members’ input, the Board has opted to hold the festival in Durango in 2026.

Durango gives us all the opportunity to re-imagine our Festival and plan its future growth. However, for this first year, the Board feels – and many respondents suggested this– that we should keep things simple and focus on the elements that our visitors value. So, we plan to recruit quality instructors in order to offer classes and workshops, and we’ll continue to provide free demonstrations during the weekend.

We won’t be putting on the shows and competitions in 2026 as they require a lot of planning and volunteer effort.

None of this can happen without support. We need more board members and we implore you to consider joining the MAVWA board to assist in making 2026 a success!
